Mechanical Design Engineer

The company offers employees longevity of service and rewarding employment. Due to an upcoming site relocation (East Midlands Airport) they now have an opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer

THE ROLE:
Design and development of special purpose equipment and machinery for plastic packaging applications.

Working in a team of 5, utilising Solidworks 3D software, you will support new product development and modification projects.

Design and development of engineering projects, concept through to commissioning.
Design for manufacture and production of cost-effective solutions.
Maintain accurate documentation, including design files, component specifications and Bill of Materials (BOM).  
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise product quality and cost efficiency.
 

 

THE CANDIDATE:

Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Solidworks ideally, but open)
Experience in mechanical design of packaging machinery or similar special-purpose machines
Knowledge of Thermoforming processes and machinery preferred.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings.
Degree / HNC + in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years relevant workplace experience

Monday to Friday role / primarily office based
